The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas is proud to announce their fourth annual Bridge Bash festival to be held on the RM Ruthven, Rainbow Bridge and Big Spring Park in Cotter, AR. Bridge Bash is the Food Bank’s signature fundraising and hunger awareness raising event, and is set to gather 4,500 people to raise $100,000 and provide 500,000 meals and package an additional 100,000 meals for north central Arkansas. The event will be held on Saturday September 20, 2014 from 10 A.M. – 7 P.M.

This year’s event will also include our second annual hands-on opportunity for participants to help package 100,000 meals. Food Bank Development Director and Event Coordinator Mary Jo McLean said, “I am so excited that we will be increasing the meals packaged at Bridge Bash from over 40,000 in 2013 to our goal of 100,000 meals in 2014!  Reaching the goal would not be possible without businesses, individuals and organizations stepping up to donate both their time and their financial resources.”

The Food Bank is a distribution warehouse for 83 hunger relief organizations that consist of food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, back pack programs, summer feeding programs and other special programs across north central Arkansas. 1,500 individuals stood up for hope at Bridge Bash 2013, which raised over $79,000 and provided over 397,000 meals to be distributed to nine counties of north central Arkansas.

Jeff Quick, Executive Director of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas explained “Bridge Bash is not only our signature fundraising event; it’s also a free festival for our community. Following the Bridge Ceremony at 10 am, the public is invited to join us in the park for live music from six bands, a car show, dog show, food, vendors, and activities for children in the Kids Korner.”
